• THE LUNGS OF THE EARTH

Forests have been called by environmentalist “the lungs of the earth.” Because of the role the trees play in restoring clean air to the planet. At today’s fast pace, deforestation results in amputated the earth from her vital organs. With this knowledge, paper products should be treated as precious and valuable. However, this expertness is not yet in the public consciousness.
What can I do for the earth? There is the new ecologic idiom: the three “R”:  Reduce-Reuse-Recycle. Below are some practical suggestions for everyone’s daily life. You may have to get a little out of your way to remember to change old habits, but today’s  realty is calling for action.

• Use both side of paper to write on.
• Print double sided
• Reuse paper which have one side blank.
• Buy  recycled paper
• Reuse gift-wrap papers and bags
• Recycle all discarded paper and cardboard including the toilet
     paper cardboard roll.
• When you wash your hands reduce the amount of paper you pull
for drying your hand. You may also carry  with you a small guest
    hand towel to dry them.
• Switch back to old days handkerchief and fabric napkins
• But do use paper instead of plastic

Please add more practical suggestions you may think of, big or small.

  1. HI,
I liked the green layout of your blog. It matches the title of your blog. The topic you selected is a very good and useful one. manytimes, people are environmentally aware, but they don't know exactly what to do in order to save mother earth. I agree to your point that many times papers go waste. I saw that especially in schools, they send out flyers, out of which all are not important. Every school should have a 'moodle' kind of site to save paper. Your blog is going to bring a lot of awareness in the world. Thank you for giving us tips to save the earth.
    Regards.

    1. Dear Caroline,
I am glad you like this post and are feeling inspired. I do not know how far you are in your study, but if you need a sciences class at COM, there is a great class where you can learn so much and real facts. This class is Environmental Sciences (ENVS 138)
