Act to pay back negative karma, negligence, or lack of care for the Earth, whatever way you like to put it. I am talking about actions to restore the forests. As they are diminishing at such an alarming rate, that life on Earth is threatening. This should not only be the responsibility of politicians and governments, but also corporation and every citizen of this planet and especially educated people. There are website you may look for making a difference.

Some years ago, I was in a very bad car accidents and a lawyer was
working on my case. The negotiation took 4 years to come to a close.
The last day, at my lawyer's office, I saw the whole dossier: a thick pile of legal size paper of about 2 feet high. My file at home was only 4 inches. But all the letters the lawyer had sent to other parties involved in this case, would probably
doubled the pile, as he is supposed to keep duplicates of everything.
This was a small claim. But when I saw this waste of paper, it made a
strong impression on me. I plant a tree to make up for my personal
story. But I also took the resolution to plan trees regularly.
If you do not own a land, there are website you may look for planting a
tree. They will do it for you for a fee as small as $1. It is suggested to plant a tree every month.
Pravana, I enjoyed your post. you had minor grammatical errors, but an over all powerful post as you tide an experience to a cause which I relate to completely. Planting a tree because you saw a waste of the environment taking place in the time of a difficult event. I enjoyed this post. Great!
ReplyDeleteIm sorry to hear that you had a car accident and that the case took so long and wasted so much paper. Its a great idea to plant trees and give back to the eath since we take so much from it.I hope your blog makes people want to make a difference and help the earth. When we help the earth we help ourselves.
ReplyDeleteThis post is very inspiring. As you gave a little background information to why you have began to plant a tree was the hook. Just thinking about your case that took 4 years long and not only keeping in mind the long duration, your lawyer also kept copies of everything. The amount of paper used is insane. I also like that you mentioned that if you don't have your own land then there's other options to plant a tree for such a low amount. I can't help but wanting to plant a tree too!
ReplyDeleteThanks for everyone who replied to the "Plant a tree" post. I feel that if all of you are as inspired as I was when writing this post, then there is hope on the planet. We will have beautiful forest and orchards to enjoy in the future.
DeleteI like this post a lot, it has everything that it needs, a personal story that hooks the reader, an idea that drives it, and I like most that at the end you gave the option for the reader to do something too. I think a large problem with environmentalism, is not that people don't want to help, but they don't know how, and by you adding links to simple things your reader can do is a great idea. Love it keep it up.
